CW: I am putting the photo of the mummy in the article. It isn’t graphic, but I get why someone wouldn’t want to see it. So if you don’t want to see it, click out and I’m sure I’ll see you again in another article. :)

After I wrote my Jack the Ripper victims series, I needed something a bit lighter to write for my own mental health, so I planned this article. While death is never a “light” subject, this one is certainly less depressing than my last five articles and there are laughs to be had. So without further ado…

In December 1976, a film crew for The Six-Million Dollar Man had a carnival scene to film. When scouting locations, they chose The Pike — an amusement park in Long Beach, California.

Specifically, they chose the “Laff-in-the-Dark” haunted house ride.

The ride was a good ride to go if you were on a date night. Riders would go into a car for two people and be driven through a tunnel of various spooks and scares.

The scene to be filmed was of the hero (Steve Austin) of the Six Million Dollar Man fighting communist goblins in the tunnels of the ride. You know — a good ol’ American hoedown for the kiddies to watch during the 1970s.
